City of Oak Creek
Common Council Report
Meeting Date:
Item No.: 7
Recommendation: That the Common Council approve the Contract Agreement for School Health Services 2003-2004 School Year.
Background: The School District has requested the Health Department to continue providing school nursing services in selected schools for the 2003-2004 school year. The Board of Health discussed this request at its January 30, 2003 meeting and directed the CPHA to continue to work with the schools in developing an agreement for continuing services. The School District will be decreasing the amount of school nursing hours this fall; the Health Department will schedule staff accordingly.
The current agreement states, “This agreement may be renewed for each successive school year upon mutual agreement of the School District and the City, provided that there is a written agreement between the parties prior to May 1st of the 2003-2003 school year.” Once approved by the Council, I will present it to the School Board.
Note: Part of the agreement lists the Public Health Nursing services for the schools; these services are at “no charge”.
Fiscal Impact: The receipt of $27.75 per hour for school nursing services performed.
