Recommendation:  That the Council adopt Ordinance 2241, amending Section 2 of Ordinance 2234, relating to the position of Street Division Supervisor.

Background:  As a result of the retirement of the Street Supervisor on January 2, 2002, a vacancy occurred and was posted for current employees.  After reviewing and testing candidates for the position, David Laehn was appointed as Acting Street Supervisor as of January 2, 2002 and appointed to the position on July 1, 2002 with a 6-month probationary period.  Dave has successfully completed his probationary period.

Fiscal Impact:  The Street Division 2003 budget has adequate funds at this time to cover these wages.
