Recommendation:  That the Council approves the hiring of Influx Media LLC a local Oak Creek business to develop a media presentation of the City for prospective businesses.

Background:  There have been requests by prospective businesses and commercial realty companies for information and promotional materials of the City.  The materials that are available are dated and are not able to project a positive audio/visual image of the City.    This media presentation would be on DVD and consist of audio, video and photos in a video format.

The project would consist of taking photographs, video and writing/narrating a presentation of the City.  This presentation will include information about transportation facilities, schools, MATC, residential areas, industrial and commercial parks including TIFs.  The video would then be burned onto DVD’s for distribution to prospective businesses. This video/marketing presentation was conceived as a way to professionally and yet inexpensively create a positive media image of the city for distribution in a relatively short time frame. 

Using a local firm familiar with the city will provide a cost savings as they do not have to familiarize and research areas of the city as an outside firm would need to do.  Several other firms/individuals have been informally contacted for preliminary cost estimates and the prices have been higher.

A short audio/video presentation will be given at the council meeting.

Fiscal Impact:  The contract with Influx Media LLC will be for $2,500.00. The cost of this contract will be paid from Fund 31 Economic Development; Account #42500 Advertising and Promotions.
