City of Oak Creek
Common Council Report
Meeting Date: December 2, 2003
Item No.:
Recommendation: To concur with the recommendation of the Traffic and Safety Commission and authorize the installation of streetlights at the intersection of S. 27th Street and W. Honadel Boulevard.
Background: The request was discussed at the Traffic and Safety Commission meeting on November 12, 2003. We received four options for the street lighting at the intersection of S. 27th Street and W. Honadel Boulevard and recommend Option 4.
Option 1: One wood pole and one Cobra head light installed on the southeast corner of the intersection. This option would provide light for the intersection, but not adequately light the intersection.
Option 2: One wood pole and a double Cobra head light installed in the median.
Option 3: One concrete pole with double decorative lights installed in the median to match the lights in the nearby Chateau condominium units.
Option 4: One RA40-14 metal pole with twin Z40G’s Nostalgia Lumec lights with CRA brackets installed in the median by the City of Oak Creek staff. We Energies would supply the electrical service. In this option, we own the light and only have to pay for the electrical charges per month. This light is an approved light and is currently used in the City.
