Recommendation:  That the Council approve the recruitment for the position of Planner.

Background:  At their meeting of November 21, 2003, the Common Council adopted the budget for 2004.  Part of that budget included funding for a Planner as part of a reorganization of the Department of Community Development.

In accordance with the October 7^th resolution approving a review and authorization process on hiring and promotions for the City, a request is being made to approve the start of this recruitment process.

Fiscal Impact:  The salary range for this position is $44,149 - $56,602.  The revised position has been funded as part of the 2004 budget.
