City of Oak Creek
Common Council Report
Meeting Date: November 4, 2003
Item No.:27
Recommendation: That the Common Council 1) allow Orde Advertising to withdraw its bid because of an error, 2) reject the bid from TV John & Son for the Creekside Corporate Park sign project because it is too high, and 3) award the bid for the project to construct the entrance sign for the Oak Creek Commerce and Industrial Park at the intersection of S. Howell Avenue and E. Mahn Court to the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder, TV John & Son, in the amount of $15,950.00 (Project No. 99049 & 00045) (1st and 6th Aldermanic Districts).
Background: A designer working for the developer prepared plans and specifications for the project, the Engineering Division put them in biddable form, the work was advertised, and the following bids were received. This is the third time that the projects have been advertised. The low bidder has informed the Engineering Division that their bid for the Creekside Corporate Park Sign contained an error and did not include the cost of the electric to the sign. The Creekside Corporate Park Signs will be advertised again. The Oak Creek Commerce and Industrial Park Sign bid is the lowest bid that has been received in any of the previous bids.
