City of Oak Creek
Common Council Report
Meeting Date: March 4, 2003
Item No.:
18
Recommendation: That the Common Council consider rejecting the bid for the project to construct the entrance sign for the Oak Creek Commerce and Industrial Park at the intersection of S. Howell Avenue and E. Mahn Court. The lowest responsive, responsible bidder was Outdoor Lighting and their bid was in the amount of $17,609.00 (Project No. 99049) (1st Aldermanic District).
Background: A designer working for the developer prepared plans and specifications for the project, the Engineering Division put them in biddable form, the work was advertised, and the following bid was received.

It is our recommendation that this bid be rejected since only one bid was received. The sign face could be contracted out and the Street Department and Inspection Department could install the sign.
Fiscal Impact: Payment for this project will come from funds reserved in TIF District 4. The project has $35,000 anticipated for the sign construction.
