  1. InformationalPetition of City Clerk Pamela S. Bauer, dated 6/25/2010 for nonrenewal of the Class B Combination license as submitted by Bedi Hamdia, Agent, for Nick’s & Friends, Inc., 6874 S. 13th St., based on the fact that they do not have a valid seller’s permit.
  2. Hearing:  Hearing on the Petition for Nonrenewal of the Class B Combination license as submitted by Bedi Hamdia, Agent, for Nicks & Friends, inc., 6874 S. 13th St.
  3. Motion:  Consider a motion to take appropriate action as the Council deems necessary on the renewal Class B Combination license application for the period July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011, submitted by Bedi Hamdia, Agent, for Nicks & Friends, Inc., 6874 S. 13th St. (by Committee of the Whole).

  1. Resolution:  Consider Resolution No. 11057-070610, Resolution of Appreciation to Thomas P. Bauer, retiring Police Chief (by Committee of the Whole).
New Business

MAYOR & COMMON COUNCIL

  1. InformationalUpdate on the status of the City Administrator search.
  2. Motion:  Consider a motion to accept the resignation of Assistant City Attorney Barry Book and approve the change in compensation for the Assistant City Attorney position in accordance with the common council report (by Committee of the Whole).
  3. Resolution:  Consider Resolution No. 11056-070610, urging Milwaukee County to dredge the harbor at the Bender Park boat launch (4th District).
  4. Motion:  Consider a motion to consider the request of the law firm of Schober Schober & Mitchell for payment of attorney’s fees of $9,081.50 incurred by Earl Giefer (by Committee of the Whole).
  5. Motion:  Consider a motion to consider whether to become members of the new Urban Alliance as a result of a merger between the Wisconsin Alliances of Cities and the League of Wisconsin Municipalities, and to approve a dues surcharge of approximately $1,608 in the year 2011 (by Committee of the Whole).
  6. Motion:  Consider a motion to approve the move from Spring/Nextel, Inc. and Verizon Wireless, Inc. to Verizon Wireless, Inc. as the sole vendor for City cell phone service (by Committee of the Whole).
  7. Motion: Consider a motion to approve the 2010 Vendor Summary Report in the amount of $483,428.06 (by Committee of the Whole).

    PARKS, RECREATION & FORESTRY

  8. Resolution:  Consider Resolution No. 11055-070610, authorizing consolidation of fees in lieu of Parkland dedication (by Committee of the Whole).

    ENGINEERING

  9. Motion:  Consider a motion to authorize payment of the contract progress payment for Project No. 07025, Puetz Road (2nd & 6th District).
  10. Resolution:  Consider Resolution No. 11054-070610, approving a 5’ x 10’ public storm sewer easement across 8570 S. Sharon Drive as shown on Exhibit A, and one across 8560 S. Sharon Drive as shown on Exhibit B for the installation of a new storm sewer inlet (Tax Key Nos. 824-0115 and 824, 0116, respectively) (3rd District).

    COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

  11. Resolution:  Consider Resolution No. 11024-011910, accepting the donation of the property at 7115 S. Howell Avenue from the Ervin K. Nowak estate (1st District).
  12. Resolution:  Consider Resolution No. 11025-011910, accepting the donation of the property at 9150R South 13th Street from REM Enterprises (6th District).
  13. Resolution:  Consider Resolution No. 11058-070610, approving a certified survey map for the properties at 7311, 7377, 7421R and 7471 S. 13th St. (Oak Creek Assembly of God) (1st District).

    STREETS

  14. Motion:  Consider a motion to approve the use of funds from 2010 Capital Project #10032 and Capital Project #10033 to purchase two (2) 2010, F350 4x2 Stake Bed Trucks complete with stake side dump box and Omaha Standard Lift Gate from Badger Truck Center through the V.A.L.U.E. bidding process at a cost of $30,205 each ($60,410 total) (Contract #28018-SL) (by Committee of the Whole). 

    LICENSE COMMITTEE

  15. The following items were received after license committee met:

  16. Ordinance:  Consider ordinance No. 2592, repealing Section 7.84(f) of the Municipal Code, eliminating the requirement to fingerprint and photograph liquor license applicants, and renumbering the remainder of Section 7.84.
  17. Motion:  Consider a motion to grant a transient merchant license to solicit sales for Klondike Distributors to Thomas F. King, 2419 W. Pierce, Milwaukee (favorable police record received).
  18. The License Committee met on 7/1/2010.  Minutes are attached and recommendations are being made as follows:

  19. Motion:  Consider a motion to deny a Class B beer, Class C wine license to Khanh Nguyen for Thai Tea, 8701 S. Howell Avenue for not having a sellers permit number, for not signing the application and for applying incorrectly as a renewal.
  20. Motion:  Consider a motion to deny an original Class B Combination license for the period July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011, to Dorothy Bourdo, 6874 S. 13th St. because a license has already been issued to that premises.
  21. Motion:  Consider a motion to reconsider action taken at the 6/15/2010 Common Council meeting to deny Michael Adam Fesko, 8710 S. Wood Creek Dr., Oak Creek (Applebee’s) an Operator’s license for being a habitual offender.
  22. Motion:  Consider a motion to grant an Operator’s license to Michael Adam Fesko, 8710 S. Wood Creek Dr., Oak Creek (Applebee’s) (previously denied 6/15/2010 due to incorrect information on a previous police report).
  23. Motion:  Consider a motion to grant a transient merchant license to Callen Construction, Inc., submitted by Christi A. Pryor, to solicit sales for interior/exterior remodeling projects and the following salespersons:
  24. Motion:  Consider a motion to deny a transient merchant license to solicit sales for Callen Construction, Inc. to the following salespersons for being habitual offenders:
  25. Motion:  Consider a motion to grant an Operator’s license to the following salespersons (favorable police records received):
  26. NOTE:  Bolded items were completed after License Committee.  Favorable police reports received.

  27. Motion:  Consider a motion to grant a Class B Combination license issued to Luther’s Bars Inc., Anthony Luther, Agent, for Kelly’s Bleachers OC, 10276 S. 27th St., subject to issuance of an occupancy permit.
