1. Motion: Consider a motion to concur with the Mayor’s appointment of Beverly A. Buretta, CMC, City Clerk, to the position of Treasurer effective immediately through April 30, 2004 (by Committee of the Whole).

 

2. Ordinance: Consider Charter Ordinance No. 9, to combine the positions of City Clerk and Treasurer as an elected position, effective with the term beginning 5/1/04 (by Committee of the Whole) (held 10/1/02).

 

3. Motion: Consider a motion to file the recommendation of the Street Superintendent to purchase and install two security gates from Century Fence in the amount of $15,269.00 (by Committee of the Whole) (held 10/1/02).

 

4. Resolution: Consider resolution No. 10169-100102, approving the certified survey map for the property at 9180 S. Nicholson Rd. (Ronald and Carol Grundy) (3rd District) (held 10/1/02).

 

5. Informational: Council update on the reduction in cost for the modifications to the roof at Fire Station No. 3; no Council action required (held 9/17/02).

6. Council proclamation: Consider council proclamation No. 02-16, congratulations to Michael J. Mirenda, Jr., for having earned the Eagle Scout Award (by Committee of the Whole).

 

7. Motion: Consider a motion to approve the Vendor Summary Report in the amount of $2,150,382.50 (by Committee of the Whole).

8. Motion: Consider a motion to take action on the various license requests as listed on the attached report.

 

Parks and Recreation

 

9. Motion: Consider a motion to award the 2002 street tree planting, Project No. 02002, Phase II, to J. Kasian & Sons Nursery in the amount of $44,450.00 (various districts).

 

Engineering

 

10. Resolution: Consider resolution No. 10170-101502, accepting a permanent street lighting easement along the E. Puetz Rd. frontage of the property identified as Tax Key No. 860-0001 at 8739 S. Oak Park Dr. (3rd District).

 

11. Motion: Consider a motion to authorize the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the State of Wisconsin for the construction, operation, and maintenance of the traffic signal preemption at specific intersections with Ryan Rd. (as listed on the attached council report), and to authorize the Director of Public Works to purchase traffic signal preemption equipment from the sole supplier, Traffic Control Corporation, for a sum not to exceed $5,000.00 per intersection (Project No. 00015) (various districts).

 

12. Motion: Consider a motion to award the project to install storm sewer improvements in S. 13th St. and the West Middle School detention basin to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, Willkomm Excavating, in the estimated amount of $30,938.52 (Project No. 02027) (2nd District).

 

13. Resolution: Consider resolution No. 10171-101502, accepting the workmanship and authorizing final payment to J. Kasian & Sons, Inc., for Project No. 01001 (installation of street trees in various locations citywide) (all districts).

 

14. Motion: Consider a motion to authorize payment of the contract progress payments for various projects as listed on the attached summary report (various districts).

 

Community Development

 

15. Resolution: Consider resolution No. 10172-101502, imposing a six-month development moratorium on the properties in the area bounded by S. 27th St., W. Rawson Ave., I-94 and W. Drexel Ave. (2nd District).

 

16. Resolution: Consider resolution No. 10173-101502, approving the affidavit of correction for Certified Survey Map No. 6996 (3271, 3281 and 3351 E. Elm Rd.) (5th District).

 

17. Motion: Consider a motion to approve the subordination of the City’s home improvement loan with Jennifer and Derek Poellet on their property at 1415 W. Violet Dr. (6th District).

 

18. Video presentation: Video interview of Mayor Chester Stranczek, Village of Crestwood, Illinois, entitled "The Best Run Town in America", as requested by Nancy Jonas, 10351 S. Justin Dr.
