Women’s Danger Awareness & Self Defense Seminar

The Oak Creek Police Department will offer two free seminars on Women’s Danger Awareness and Self Defense.

Dates: Session One: February 11-12, 2008
  Session Two: March 17-18, 2008
Location: Oak Creek Police Department, 301 W. Ryan Rd.

Objectives:

The goal of this course is to present information to reduce the risk of an assault and tools to help in dangerous encounters. A portion of the seminar has physical activity in which those attending may participate.

Registration is open to residents of Oak Creek only or those employed in the City of Oak Creek. You must be 17 years or older to participate.

Course Outline

Day 1
  6:00pm to 6:15pm Introduction
  6:15pm to 7:00pm Assault Prevention Presentation
  7:00pm to 8:30pm Self Defense Introduction

Day 2
  6:00pm to 6:45pm Self Defense, Part Two
  6:45pm to 8:30pm Self Defense Practical Applications
  8:30pm Course Review

A portion of this course includes a physical self defense component (participation is optional)

You will need to bring the following to this course:

  • Loose fitting clothes – sweat pants, sweat shirt or other appropriate gym clothes will be acceptable.
  • Gym shoes
Handouts and note taking material will be provided.
