Project Childsafe Gun Lock Program

SPONSORED BY:
National Shooting Sports Foundation

The Oak Creek Police Department received approximately 400 gun locks from Project Childsafe. The gun lock program is sponsored by the National Shooting Sports Foundation and a federal government Department Of Justice grant. The locks are free to any Oak Creek resident that would like one. The procedure for distributing the locks will be as follows:

  • The person MUST be an Oak Creek resident. There can be a few exceptions if the person works in the city and can show a need for a gun lock: i.e. works for WEPCO and uses their outdoor range frequently and transports a firearm through our city.
  • The resident MUST come into the police department during business hours and talk to Officer Dailey. There are some flyers and other safety information that goes with the locks.

In the event that Officer Dailey is not available, a person may come into the police department and pick one up at the front desk. The safety information will be located with the locks. If they have any further questions regarding the gun locks or any of the safety programs they should call Kim Bogadi at 414-766-7623 and leave a message.

We will give out only ONE (1) lock per person or per family due to the limited number of locks available. The program appears to be a one-time deal and we are not expecting to get any more locks once these are gone. A notice will be published when all of the locks have been distributed.
