Roofing Contractor Scam Alert

Several area police departments have been investigating complaints of persons representing themselves as roofing contractors. The suspects approach a resident and they tell them that they are working in the area and they noticed loose shingles. They state that they have extra roofing material and they will fix the shingles at a greatly reduced rate. The suspects start the project but than ask to enter the house for some water. After the suspect enters the resident’s house they loot anything that they can grab in a hurry and exit before the resident catches them. They immediately leave the area without any further roof repairs.

We are asking the Oak Creek residents to be suspicious of any contractors that walk up to your residence with a “great deal” for them.
