Physical Agility Test


This test will be given by members of the Oak Creek Police Department under the supervision of the Police and Fire Commission. The candidate will be required to sign a waiver (enclosed). A group tactical warm up with wellness check will be performed prior to the beginning of the test. The test administrator shall be notified immediately of any and all injuries that may occur during the test.

The Oak Creek Police Department Physical Agility Test consists of the following elements:

  1. Obstacle Course

The candidate will begin from a standing position at the designated start line and traverse the following obstacles over the .14 mile obstacle course. All obstacles must be traversed in correct order. If a candidate cannot complete one of the obstacles, he/she fails. If a candidate falls off of an obstacle, he/she is required to go back to the start of the failed obstacle (not the start of the test) to continue the test. They cannot pick up at the point where they fell off the obstacle. Time to successfully complete the obstacle course is 2 minutes 35 seconds (subject to environmental conditions) Order of obstacles from start to finish will be as follows:

  1. 2 ft. barricade
  2. 2 ft. barricade
  3. 4 ft. chain link fence
  4. 9-pole serpentine
  5. 47.5 ft. body drag (170lb. "green man")
  6. Traverse through window
  7. Ladder climb - up
  8. Approximately 50lb. weight pull with rope up 16 ft.
  9. Ladder climb - down
  10. Push 100lb. heavy bag 16 ft. on rail system (dummy drive)
  11. Transverse 7 over/unders
  12. 53.5 ft. balance beam
  13. 19.2 ft. low crawl through low crawl tunnel
  1. Flexibility / Strength / Mobility / Coordination
    1. Push a simulated disabled vehicle on level ground for a distance of 25 ft.
    2. Participate in a two-person stretcher/chair carry up and down a flight of stairs 2 times
    3. Successfully bring arrest resistor arms together and hold for 10 seconds
  1. Cardiovascular / Aerobic Conditioning
  • Run a distance of ½ mile in 4 minutes, subject to environmental conditions.
