| ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES |
Beer permit (Fee $10) is required for the consumption of beer for persons 21 & over. Renter must be 21 or over (proof of age required.) No other alcoholic beverages (i.e. wine coolers, liquor, etc.) are permitted. |
| ANIMALS |
Pets must be on a leash. Clean up of animal litter is required. |
| APPLIANCES |
Refrigerator/freezer, fan and vacuum cleaner. There is NO stove / oven / microwave in the shelter. |
| BATHROOMS |
Separate indoor rest room facilities are available for men and women. Restroom lights are activated by occupancy sensors. |
| BOATS/WATERCRAFTS |
All boats/watercrafts are prohibited on Henry Miller Park Pond. |
| CAPACITY |
60 person capacity inside Henry Miller Park Shelter |
| CHARCOAL DISPOSAL |
There is a black barrel located near the recyling containers and port-o-jon for hot charcoal disposal. Please do not place any garbage or other items in this barrel. |
| CLEAN-UP |
The renter must vacate the property & remove all supplies/equipment brought in to the facility by the date/time specified on the permit. Refrigerator/freezer/counter/tables & the floor must be cleaned. Brooms, dust pan, vacuum cleaner, mop, pail, & cleaning supplies are in the storage area. Garbage bags are located under the counter area near the refrigerator. The park/facilities must be left in reasonable condition. If additional clean-up is required, the labor cost will be charged to the renter/event sponsor. Also refer to "Security Deposit". |
| CLOSING |
At the conclusion of your event, call the Oak Creek Police Department at (414) 762-8200. You will be advised whether you need to wait for the officer when you call. They will check out the premises for any damage to the facility & make sure the building is secured. Turn OFF the lights and lock the door. |
| COMPLAINTS, PROBLEMS & DAMAGE |
Please contact the Department at 414-768-6515 prior to 11 AM on the first business day after your rental if there are any need for repair or problems with the appliances, rest rooms, windows, etc. or if the building was left in inappropriate condition by the previous renter.
If a park or facility is damaged as a result of an event or rental, the cost for the labor & materials used for the repair will be charged to the event renter/sponsor. |
| COUNTER AREA |
There is an L-shaped counter area in the building. |
| DECORATIONS |
NO tape, thumb tacks, staples, nails or similar fasteners of any kind are to be used on any surfaces (i.e. walls, drywall ceiling, light fixtures, etc.) Table decorating is allowed. If damage is done on any surface, you will be charged for the repairs. |
| EARLY ENTRY |
Renter is permited in the facility ONLY on the date/time printed on the permit. |
| ELECTRICAL OUTLETS |
The electrical circuits are limited. Each circuit (wall) has a maximum of 20 amps. This is equal to TWO appliances per wall. The refrigerator/freezer counts as 1 appliance. Compliance with this is important in order to prevent tripping the circuit breakers. |
| FEES - (RENTAL) |
Monday thru Thursday: $40 rental fee (non-refundable if cancelled) plus $40 CASH or Credit Card security deposit*.
Friday thru Sunday & Holidays: $80.00 rental fee plus $40 CASH or Credit Card security deposit*. Half of rental fee is refunded if reservation is cancelled prior to 30 days of the event.

| FISHING |
Shoreline fishing allowed- ICE FISHING is prohibited on Miller Pond. The pond is stocked annually with trout, perch and/or sunfish when available. Contact the Department of Natural Resources for fishing license restrictions and license information. |
| GARBAGE |
All garbage must be put in plastic trash bags and taken to the appropriate dumpsters on the north side of the Oak Creek High School for disposal. |
| ICE SKATING |
Ice skating is available when weather and ice conditions permit. Please call the activity tape at (414) 299-9721, Press 1 for up-to-date information. |
| KEY PICK UP |
WEEKEND/HOLIDAY RESERVATION KEYS must be picked up between 8 AM & 4:45 PM on last business day (Mon-Fri) the Parks, Rec & Forestry office(768-6515) is open prior to your event. WEEKDAY RESERVATION KEYS can be picked up between 8 AM & 4:45 PM on the day of the reservation. |
| KEY RETURN |
WEEKEND RESERVATION KEYS must be returned between 8 AM & 4:45 PM on Monday. Note: Security deposits are NOT released prior to 12 NOON.
WEEKDAY/HOLIDAY RESERVATION KEYS must be returned the following business weekday. |
| LIGHTS |

| MECHANICAL & STORAGE ROOM |
Access to the mechanical/storage area is limited to the renter of the facility or designated responsible adult. |
| MUSIC / PA SYSTEM |
Henry Miller Park is located in a residential area. Groups using the park facilities must be considerate about the volume of music & noise. The Police Department will respond to complaints per city ordinance. |
| NO SMOKING |
Smoking is NOT ALLOWED in the Henry Miller Park Pavilion. |
| PARKING |
NO PARKING/driving is allowed in the park. A car may be driven down to drop off and pick up equipment & materials. |
| PICNIC TABLES & BENCHES |
There are 6 picnic tables (one is wheelchair accessible) and 2 serving tables located in the shelter. These must be returned to their original locations at the conclusion of your event. There are approximately 25 picnic tables outside in the surrounding Henry Miller Park area. |
| POND |
A pond located directly north of the pavilion is approximately 1/2 acre in size and up to approximately 6 ft deep at its deepest location. |
| PROBLEMS |
If you experience any problem with your reserved facility on the weekend, or during non-office hours, call the Oak Creek Police Department at 762-8200 and they will contact the appropriate personnel. |
| PUBLIC ACCESS |
Park land and the port-o-let is open to the public. A reservation gives renters exclusive use of the Henry Miller Park shelter and the picnic area south of the pavilion. |
| RECYCLE |
There are 2 dark blue barrels with white lids for recyclables for cans, glass & plastic. These barrels are located by the port-o-let near Henry Miller Park pond. Only cans, glass & plastic are to be places in these barrels. They may be placed in the same barrel. |
| RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT |
Henry Miller Park or any city park or facility is rented to Oak Creek RESIDENTS Only. Proof of residency is required at time of rental. |
| SECURITY DEPOSIT |
Please be considerate of the next renter. The shelter is frequently rented several days in a row. Security deposit will be forfeited if Henry Miller Park building &/or the surrounding area is not appropriately cleaned or if complaints are received from the next renter, Oak Creek Police Department or parks maintenance staff. The security deposit will be available after 12 NOON on next regular business day after rental. Security deposts can be either in the form of CASH or CREDIT CARD. Sorry! NO CHECKS will be accepted for security deposits. |
| SET-UP |
Set up is NOT ALLOWED before the date and time stated on the renter's reservation permit. If the office is made aware that set up is done prior to the date/times of your event, you will be billed accordingly for the additional time. |
| SUPERVISION |
Adult supervision is required at all times. |
| SWIMMING |
SWIMMING IS PROHIBITED in Henry Miller Park Pond |
| TELEPHONE |
A telephone is provided and located on the east wall. Local calls only. Please monitor the use of the telephone so its availability is not abused. |
| TENTS / CANOPIES |
Requests for use of tents/canopies and their specific location in Parks need prior approval by the Director of Parks, Recreation & Forestry. |
| TIMES |
Henry Miller Park can be rented from 10 AM to 10 PM. All City parks close at 10 PM. |
| THERMOSTAT |
A thermostat is located on the west wall in the large room and south wall in the men's restroom.The temperature is set at 70-degrees when heat is required. Do not attempt to remove the locked thermostat guards to adjust the temperature. |
| WATERFOWL |
DO NOT FEED THE GEESE & DUCKS! Waterfowl droppings interfere with people's enjoyment of the park. |
| WINDOWS |
There are a number of windows with screens and window cranks that can be opened. Be sure to unlatch/unlock the windows BEFORE trying to crank open the windows. Please close and lock the windows upon securing the building at the end of your event. You may need a person to gently push the window closed from the outside while you are cranking the window to the shut position. |
