Community Development


The Department of Community Development serves as the starting point for all new development proposed in the City from new subdivisions to large-scale commercial or industrial developments.

This office processes all rezoning, Official Map and Conditional Use Permit requests that are necessary for any new development proposals. The department also serves as staff to the Plan Commission and Community Development Authority (CDA) who are involved with various aspects of new development proposals.

In addition to current planning the Department of Community Development is responsible for long-range comprehensive planning and economic development.
