Election Officials (Pollworkers):
Election Officials, also known as pollworkers, are vital in carrying out election-day duties. While the City is always looking for willing participants, the 2008 election year is particularly important in the recruitment of individuals willing to work the polls. The Presidential Preference Primary and Spring Election on February 19 th, the Spring General Election on April 1st, the Fall Partisan Primary on September 9th, and particularly the Presidential Election on November 4th are expected to draw extremely large crowds.
If you are interested in being considered for assignment as an Election Official, please complete the Pollworker Application and either mail it to City Hall, drop it in one of the drop boxes at City Hall, or drop it off in person in the City Clerk ’s Office. You need not be a registered member of a particular party in order to work as an Election Official, but you must be a registered Oak Creek voter, and we do attempt to accommodate the requests or needs of each pollworker where possible.
Special training will be conducted for all those persons interested in becoming an Election Official. It is possible that not everyone who applies will work all elections. Some may be assigned to specific duties as a greeter, registration deputy, or on stand-by, in the event a scheduled pollworker is unable to work.
The salary range for this position as established for 2008 is $7.00 to $10.00 per hour. |
