City Assessor's Office

The Assessor's Office is responsible for discovering, listing, placing a fair market value on all real and personal property according to State laws to equitably distribute the local tax burden.  Preparation of the annual assessment roll is the result of each year's work.

Personnel in this department assist city staff and the public in obtaining assessment information on commercial, residential, manufacturing, agricultural, and mobile home properties in the City.  In 1994, the City hired a contract assessor to act as City Assessor.  With that change, the City Clerk assumed the day-to-day supervision of this office.
