Citizen Engagement and Priority Assessment Results

The following slides are part of presentations to be made at a public meeting to be held on Monday January 30th. The meeting is a joint meeting of the Oak Creek Common Council and the Oak Creek /Franklin School District and will consider the City’s options for locating a new City Hall and Library. The presentation slides are intended to inform audience members about information thought to be useful and important as the public considers and the Common Council deliberates on these decisions. Attending the meeting or watching it from your home will help to keep you informed about this topic. Citizen Engagement and Priority Assessment Results

In late 2011 the City contracted with Cobalt Community Research to conduct a random sample survey of Oak Creek residents to gauge opinions on a variety of topics including City services, budgeting priorities, and the future of City Hall and the Library. The goals of the study were to aid the City in budgeting and strategic planning decisions, measure performance and compare it statewide, regionally, and nationally, and to determine residents opinions on which City services have priority when making tough budget choices.... Become Involved: Board of Zoning / Housing Appeals Has Opening

One of the many ways for the citizens of Oak Creek to become involved in the City’s governmental decisions is by serving on a board, committee or commission. Currently, we have a vacancy on our Board of Zoning / Housing Appeals. If you are interested in applying for the current Board of Zoning/Housing Appeals opening, please complete a Boards, Committee and Commissions Application and submit it to the City Clerk’s office for review. Applications can be found here or requested at City Hall. Mayor Al Foeckler will be advised of any application(s) received.

Allan M. Foeckler Appointed Mayor of Oak Creek

We are pleased to announce that the Oak Creek Common Council appointed Al Foeckler, former Alderman and Council President, to the position of Mayor at the December 20 meeting. He will serve the remainder of the late Mayor Dick Bolender’s term, ending on April 16.

Al is a thirteen-year resident of Oak Creek and an attorney with Cannon & Dunphy SC. He served as Alderman of District 2 from 1999 until 2008.

The City of Oak Creek would like to welcome Al Foeckler to the Office of the Mayor.
